Old Boise houses need a different approach
The North End, the East End and the Bench are full of homes built between the 1900s and the 1950s, and they are wonderful houses that are rarely flat. Board subfloors that have moved over eighty years, additions built at a slightly different height, and original fir or oak hiding under three layers of carpet and lino. We plan for that. A quote on a 1925 bungalow that does not account for subfloor prep is a quote that is going to change halfway through, and we would rather find it at the measure than surprise you later.
Found hardwood under the carpet?
It happens constantly in the older parts of town. Sometimes the wood underneath is worth saving and refinishing, and sometimes it has been patched, cut into for ducting, or worn through in the traffic lanes. We will pull a corner and tell you which one you have before you commit to anything.
Newer Boise neighborhoods
Southeast Boise, Harris Ranch, Columbia Village and the Barber Valley builds are a different job entirely. Flat subfloors, open main floors, and usually the same story: the builder grade carpet has hit its ten year mark and the whole main level goes to LVP in a day or two.
