That is normal, and it is most of what we talk about on a first visit. The honest short version: LVP for almost anything with water, kids or dogs. Laminate if the budget is tight and the room stays dry. Carpet in bedrooms. Real or engineered hardwood when you want the floor to add value to the house. Tile for bathrooms, entries and anywhere you want it to last thirty years.
