Why most people land on LVP
Luxury vinyl plank is the floor we install more than everything else combined, and there is a good reason for that. It is completely waterproof, so a dog bowl tipping over or a dishwasher leak does not end with a ruined floor. It handles dog nails and dropped toys better than real wood. And it costs a fraction of hardwood while looking close enough that most people cannot tell from standing height.
What a typical job looks like
Most main floors take one to two days. We move the furniture, pull the old carpet or tile, check the subfloor for high and low spots, float out anything that would telegraph through, then lay the plank and reinstall your baseboard or add quarter round, whichever you prefer. Transitions to carpet, tile and stairs get done the same day.
The part other installers skip
Subfloor prep. LVP is thin and it will show every dip and hump underneath it, and a floor that clicks and flexes when you walk on it almost always traces back to a subfloor nobody flattened. We check it before we lay a single plank. Older Boise homes and anything with a slab need this more than newer builds.
Bringing your own flooring
Plenty of our customers buy their own material and hire us to install it. That is fine with us. Just tell us the brand and style before you order so we can tell you how much to buy, because coming up two boxes short in the middle of a job is the one thing that turns a two day install into a three week one.
